On 16 March 2010, Royal Thai Embassy in London hosted a reception in honour of Professor Anne Mills, 2009 Prince Mahidol awardee in the field of medicine.
As said by HRH Prince Mahidol, the father of modern medicine and public health of Thailand, “True Success is not in the learning, but in its application to the benefit of mankind”, Professor Anne Mills is recognized as a world leader in the development and application of economic tools to improve policy-making and health care systems. She has also played important role in strengthening the capacity of developing countries in Africa and Asia including Thailand in health economics, health system research, and healthcare policy development.
Professor Mills is the first female and the seventh from the UK who received prestigious Mahidol award. A warm reception was attended by Professor Mills’ family, friends, colleagues and students, Team Thailand representatives in London as well as and Sir Roy Calne (2002 Mahidol awardee).

เมื่อวันที่ 16 มีนาคม 2553 สถานเอกอัครราชทูตไทย ณ กรุงลอนดอน ได้จัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ ศ.แอนน์ มิลส์ ผู้ได้รับรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดล ปี ค.ศ. 2009 สาขาการแพทย์ ดังเช่นพระดำริของสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลฯ บิดาด้านการแพทย์สมัยใหม่และการสาธารณสุขของไทย ที่ว่า “ความสำเร็จที่แท้จริงไม่ได้อยู่ที่การเรียนรู้ แต่อยู่ที่การนำไปประยุกต์ใช้เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อมนุษยชาติ” ศ. แอนน์ มิลส์ มีผลงานโดดเด่นในด้านการนำเครื่องมือทางเศรษฐศาสตร์มาประยุกต์ใช้ในการพัฒนานโยบาย ด้านการสาธารณสุข รวมทั้งมีบทบาทในการเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถของบุคลากร ด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์สาธารณสุข การวิจัย และนโยบายสาธารณสุข ในประเทศกำลังพัฒนาในแอฟริกา และเอเชีย รวมทั้งประเทศไทย ศ.แอนน์ มิลส์ เป็นสตรีคนแรก และคนที่ 7 ของสหราชอาณาจักร ที่ได้รับรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดล
