During 6-12 July 2009, the Royal Thai Embassy in the UK in collaboration with Tourism Authority of Thailand, London entered gardening competition at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, the biggest annual flower festival in the UK, attended by around 160,000 visitors and many UK and foreign press.
The event is held annually at Hampton Court, an old, famous and historically significant palace built by King Henry VIII, situated in South West London, and being one of its most popular tourist destinations.
The Thai “Garden of Serenity” won silver-gilt – the second prize from the range of gold, silver-gilt, silver, bronze, and merit – in the category of show garden. With its offer of Thai herbal drinks and Thai Traditional massage, the garden proved to be highly popular among the visitors and press.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ 2009 Team Thailand Budget.   

เมื่อวันที่ 6 -12 กรกฎาคม 2552 สถานเอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำสหราชอาณาจักรร่วมกับการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงานกรุงลอนดอนได้ร่วมกันจัดสวนไทยเข้าประกวดในงาน Hampton Court Palace Flower Show ซึ่งเป็นงานเทศกาลดอกไม้ประจำปีที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในสหราชอาณาจักร มีผู้เข้าร่วมงานประมาณ 160,000 คนและมีสื่อมวลชนทั้งจากสหราชอาณาจักรและต่างชาติเข้าร่วมเป็นจำนวนมาก
งานดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีที่ Hampton Court ซึ่งเป็นพระราชวังเก่าแก่ที่มีชื่อเสียงและมีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ สร้างขึ้นโดย King Henry VIII ตั้งอยู่ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของกรุงลอนดอน และเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของกรุงลอนดอน
ผลการประกวดการจัดสวนปรากฏว่า “สวนแห่งความสงบ” ของไทยได้รับรางวัล Silver-Gilt ซึ่งเป็นรางวัลลำดับที่สองจากทั้งหมดห้ารางวัลตามลำดับคือ Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver, Bronze, และ Merit ในประเภท Show Garden ทั้งนี้ สวนของไทย ซึ่งจัดให้มีการบริการน้ำดื่มสมุนไพรไทย และการนวดแผนโบราณไทยได้รับความนิยมอย่างสูงจากแขกและสื่อมวลชนที่เข้าร่วมงาน
การดำเนินโครงการดังกล่าวได้รับเงินสนับสนุนจากงบภารกิจทีมประเทศไทยของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2552
