1. Document required:
The current passport, expired or valid less than 6 months;
Two photocopies of Thai Citizen Identity Cards or House Registration Documents: if both Thai Citizen Identity Card and House Registration Document are not available, Two photocopies of Birth Certificates are required;
Two passport-size photos;
If the applicant has changed his/her surname on passport after the marriage or divorce, the applicant is required to present two photocopies of Marriage Certificates, Divorce Certificates, and Change of Name Certificates.
2. How to complete the application form for extension of Thai passport
Complete two application forms (Form 4) in Thai clearly and correctly, using the applicant’s surname and forename as they appear on the Thai Identity Card;
If your passport has expired, you are required to fill in two additional Investigation Record Forms (Form 2);
Signatures in accordance with the applicant’s current passport are required to fill in two boxes on the top right corner of the application form (Form 4). If the applicant cannot sign, please stamp left thumb fingerprint in the above-mentioned boxes;
Handwriting of the applicant’s name in Thai or left thumb fingerprint is required to fill at space given on the bottom right corner of the application form (Form 4);
After applying for extension of passport, it takes 5 working days to process for the application submitted by hand at the Royal Thai Embassy, London and two weeks to process for the application received by post.
NOTE: On page 1 of Form 4, please inform your current address in the UK or in the Republic of Ireland and also your contact number.
3. Fee and how to pay
The passport application fee is £25.00 GBPPayment can be made by cash and postal order only (which can be purchased at UK post offices). Please be informed that personal cheques and bank drafts are not accepted.
Should the applicants wish the Royal Thai Embassy to mail their passports by post, a properly stamped and self-addressed envelope is required, as follows:
If the applicant resides in the United Kingdom, please enclose an SAE, stamped £2.00 GBP for Recorded Delivery, or £5.50 GBP for Special Delivery.
If the applicant resides in the Republic of Ireland, please pay an additional £6.00 GBP. If paying by Bank Draft, make the draft payable to the Royal Thai Embassy, London (please be advised that only GBP sterling is accepted).
Note: Please be informed that you are required to provide your personal details i.e., your forename and surname, as they appear on your Thai Citizen Identity Card, Birth Certificate or House Registration document.

9.30 a.m. -12.30 p.m. every Monday to Friday
(except Thai and UK Public Holidays)
